An effective safeguarding system was not fully in place. It was not always clear how safeguarding concerns were reported, recorded, investigated and analysed. Records did not always evidence that an effective system was in place to ensure medicines were managed safely.
We received mixed feedback from staff about their wellbeing at work. Some staff felt supported; others felt more support was needed. Some staff told us that the culture at the service was not always positive.
There were sufficient staff deployed at the time of the assessment to meet people’s needs. Agency staff were sometimes used.

The registered manager was on leave at the time of our inspection. The deputy manager was providing management cover with support from the senior management team.
