The provider had a strong proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and complete honesty. Medicines were safely managed.

Staff consistently told us they felt valued, listened to, and well supported in their roles. The leadership team were described as approachable and fair, with an open-door culture... A staff member said, “We are like one big family.”

The provider made sure there were always enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, who received thorough support, supervision and strong development opportunities. People were supported by their own staff on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis each day.

Staff were trained in a high number of subjects to enable them to effectively support people. This included learning disabilities, autism, anxiety, personality disorders, life support, communication, and positive behaviour support.

The service was extremely well led, staff were happy and supported in their roles, and without exception, people, relatives and staff told us the service was well led.

People had access to an activities room and an activities co-ordinator was in place. A staff member said, “People go out all the time, we do day trips, bowling, lakes, walking, shopping. We have dance sessions and exercise classes.”
