Staff understood the procedure they needed to follow if they suspected abuse... Risks to people were identified and plans were put in place... Medicines were managed safely... Learning from incidents took place.

It's like a giant family. Staff cared for individuals and each other in a way that exceeded expectations. Staff were highly motivated and showed pride in their work.

There were enough staff employed and on duty to ensure people's needs were met. We found that safe recruitment and selection procedures were in place and appropriate checks had been undertaken.

Staff received regular training, supervision and an annual appraisal. Staff felt encouraged and supported to increase their skills and gain other qualifications in care and management.

The registered manager displayed exceptional leadership qualities, drive and enthusiasm. They empowered staff to provide care that was tailored to individual's needs. Staff were highly motivated by the registered manager.

Art therapy sessions, inter-service competitions in art, chess, fishing, regular holidays including funded caravan trips, therapy coordinator, Headway accreditation, measurable rehabilitation progress to independent living.
