Staff were positive about working at the service. Staff wellbeing was supported, and they felt able to raise concerns to the management team.
People, relatives and staff all said there were enough staff and one person told us, “Yes there is [enough staff]. A relative told us, [Family member] has a lot of time for all the staff and it seems like a family". A staff member told us, "Goes with the business of the day, more often or not can feel that may need more [staff] however management will step in and work on the floor".
Staff described their induction and said the management checked their confidence and competency through regular training and supervisions.
The provider’s governance processes were not robust, with audits and monitoring not identifying any of the issues we noted during the assessment. There was a lack of effective oversight and monitoring of the service.
There was a full time activities coordinator who involved and engaged people in a positive way. During our visits we observed several activities taking place in the communal lounge, people appeared engaged and very happy.
