Medicines were mostly administered safely; however, we did witness one person receive a when required medication without checking administration records... We found some out of date creams in people’s rooms.
Staff feedback about wellbeing was positive. One staff member said, 'I think staff morale is pretty good.' Staff felt supported to give feedback and were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment.
The service had a dependency tool to help calculate required staffing levels based on people’s needs and staffing levels were in line with this. Agency staff was being used to help ensure staffing levels were consistent.
Records confirmed staff training was up to date and staff told us they completed an induction when they started in post. Staff supervisions and appraisals were taking place, in line with policy.
Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Staff felt supported to give feedback and were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment.
The service employed an activities coordinator... Visits in the community included going to the local conservative club and to Blackpool illuminations. People and their relatives spoke positively about the activities on offer.
Staffing levels are adequate but they use agency workers and staff say they sometimes need more around mealtimes.
