"Supportive leaders and a positive culture where staff feel valued like family, but medicines discrepancies and incomplete recruitment checks need fixing."
We counted medicines and checked this against the providers stock records, we found discrepancies for 4 medicines which meant people may not have received all of their medicines on 1 or 2 occasions. The provider had not been testing cold water temperatures.
All staff members we spoke with told us they felt valued, respected, and supported within their roles. One staff member told us, “The providers treat you like family and are very supportive.”
The provider had not always sought the reason staff left all previous employment in health and social care services in line with Schedule 3 of the Health and Social Care Act. Interview records were not always kept by the provider.
Managers made sure staff received training and regular support to maintain good-quality care. Staff attended IPC training.
Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Staff felt supported to give feedback and were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment.
The provider had a schedule of activities which people could choose to take part in. A relative also provided music therapy sessions and this was popular amongst people.
Medication counts didn't match records so some doses might have been missed, and water system checks for bugs like legionella weren't fully done.
we found discrepancies for 4 medicines which meant people may not have received all of their medicines on 1 or 2 occasions... had not been testing cold water temperatures and although the provider was flushing infrequently used taps to prevent the risk of legionella, they were not documenting this.
Recruitment checks weren't always complete, like not asking why previous staff left other care jobs and missing some interview notes.
the provider had not always sought the reason staff left all previous employment in health and social care services in line with Schedule 3... Interview records were not always kept
Only standard activities like games, music therapy and garden time, no dedicated coordinator or special projects to make the role more interesting.
