Working at Whiston Hall

No permanent manager in post, new one only 8 weeks in and still registering, with past management changes causing inconsistency.

At the time of our inspection there was no registered manager. However, there was a manager who had joined the service 8 weeks prior to our inspection and was in the process of registering with the Care Quality Commission. There had been several changes in the management of the home which had led to a lack of consistency.

Cannot prove staff have done their required training because of a failed switch to a new recording system.

The management team explained that a new system had been used to record staff training. However, the information from the previous system was not available. The provider could not evidence staff had received appropriate training.

Staff numbers go up and down, sometimes short especially at night, so people have to wait for help.

Staff numbers go up and down and some days they seem short. They are short of night staff but seem to get the job done.
