The registered manager had not made safeguarding referrals as required. Staff we spoke with were not able to explain what safeguarding was or give examples of types of abuse.

Whilst feedback from staff was mixed, there was enough to suggest staff did not always feel supported by managers or able to raise concerns.

People were not always supported by enough staff at night. 2 staff provided care across 3 floors.

Staff did not receive training on medical conditions people had, such as diabetes and epilepsy, so they understood how to care for them appropriately.

Staff did not always feel they were treated well by managers. The registered manager had not ensured there was a positive culture for staff at the service.
