Working at Westcliff House

Improvements had been made since the previous inspection in December 2018 to how the service supported people to manage risks to their health, safety and welfare. People's medicines were managed safely.

Staff told us they were very well supported by the provider, registered manager and the assistant manager. They confirmed they had opportunity to discuss their training and development needs at regular formal and informal supervisions and appraisals.

People and staff told us there were enough staff available to meet people's needs. Most of the people living at the service were independent with their personal care.

Staff received the training and support they required to do their job. They were knowledgeable and competent. New staff were provided with induction training and supported to undertake the Care Certificate.

People and staff told us the service was well managed. There were clear lines of accountability and each member of staff was aware of their role and responsibilities.
