The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. Staff listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events.
Staff feedback was positive; they told us they enjoyed working at the service and spoke highly of leaders. One staff member commented, “The management team are very supportive with everything.”
We saw evidence of safe staffing levels at the service; staff told us, “Westbourne House ensures an appropriate level of staffing, day or night. I have never had any issues around staffing.”
Staff had all received up to date safeguarding training and implemented this learning into their practice. Staff had also received up to date training on the mental capacity act at the time of the inspection.
Managers were visible in the service and staff praised the support they received from their leaders. The service cared and supported staff well-being.
People were supported to access a range of activities based on their interests and spoke positively about these. We saw people taking part in activities that they were clearly enjoying.
