Medicines were now managed safely with records in line with best practice; risks appropriately assessed; safeguarding systems in place with staff training and referrals made when needed.

Staff felt supported in their roles: 'The new managers have inspired us and pushed us to do more. I think it has made us more competent,' and 'It is nice, not pressurised and we have time for people'.

Staffing levels were safe. Staff told us, 'Staffing levels are much better and more reliable,' and 'We have more time to spend with people,' though some people said it would benefit from additional staff.

Staff received training appropriate to their job role; staff had completed training and knew how to raise safeguarding concerns, and were suitably trained for medicines administration.

The service was well-led, and staff felt supported by an open and honest culture. Staff were motivated to deliver a high standard of care and the new registered manager had made welcome changes.

There were now plenty of activities available including games, word searches, bingo, quizzes, painting; activities were planned, displayed, with an activity worker, and participation recorded.
