Improvements in relation to managing risk had been made since the last inspection... However, some further improvement was needed... There were some care plans which lacked details and relevant risk assessments for some medicines.
Staff told us they enjoyed working at the service and felt supported and listened to by their managers. One staff member said, “There have been definite improvements in the last year. The managers are lovely, generally they are really good.”
Generally, people told us there were enough staff available to meet their needs... Staff told us they felt there were enough staff available to care for people... However, one relative commented that they would like staff to respond quicker to prevent falls and another relative was concerned there were not enough staff to accompany people to hospital following a fall.
Records confirmed staff received regular individual supervision and group supervisions to help them develop within their role. The staff training matrix confirmed staff received training appropriate to their roles... Some staff were also supported to access professional qualifications.
Staff told us they felt the service was well led. One staff member told us, “They do manage the service well and their behaviour is great - they are very nice with staff, and they take the time to listen to us and explain to us how we can improve.”
Staffing levels are mostly enough but there are occasional shortages on weekends and some relatives say call bells are not always answered quickly enough.
