Working at Vaughan Lee House

At this inspection we found improvements had been made and the service was no longer in breach of regulations. However, further improvements were needed to make sure care plans gave staff all the guidance they required to support some people to minimise risks.

Staff felt well supported and were kind and compassionate. Staff spoken with felt valued and respected. All thought it was a good place to work.

People told us there were enough staff and they did not wait for long periods of time when they required support.

A large investment in staff training in terms of time and many external courses has resulted in a significant improvement in the level of staff training at all levels.

The registered manager and provider were friendly and approachable. They were visible in the home which led to an open culture where people and staff felt able to raise concerns.

People had opportunities to take part in a range of activities and trips out. This made sure people could follow their interests and remained part of their community.
