Working at Trewidden Care Home

Few activities and little stimulation especially for people with dementia, so the role is mostly routine personal care.

The communal areas lacked sufficient stimulation for people with dementia. Activities provided were not always meaningful and relevant to people's backgrounds and interests.

No permanent manager yet, just deputy stepping in and applying for the role.

The service did not have a manager registered with the Care Quality Commission. The registered manager had recently left. The deputy manager had stepped in to the manager role and was applying to the CQC to be the registered manager.

Staffing sufficient but short gaps with no staff in communal areas and some agency workers used.

There were short periods of time when no staff were present in the communal areas as deployed elsewhere in the service. Most agency staff used the electronic care record system... however, we saw records where staff had reported some areas... wi-fi did not support this.
