"Staff feel valued and supported with stable teams and good safety, but disorganised records and limited activities hold it back."
The provider had safeguarding systems and processes in place to keep people safe. Staff knew about the risks to people... People received their medicines safely and as prescribed.
Staff spoke positively about working for the provider. They felt well supported and that they could talk to the management team at any time, feeling confident any concerns would be acted on promptly. Staff felt valued and happy in their role.
Our observations during the day, indicated there were enough staff on duty to support people with their care needs. People and their relatives told us there was enough staff to meet people's needs. Per 2019: Many of the staff had worked in the home for a lengthy period of time.
Staff had been recruited appropriately and had received relevant training, so they were able to support people with their individual care and support needs. Staff had completed training and they have access to continued learning.
Improvements were required in relation to the organisation and availability of records. In addition, further improvements were required in relation to audits undertaken to demonstrate action taken to address errors.
Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: People were supported to follow their own interests. For example, some people attended courses at a local community centre and one person had been supported to find work experience.
Managers have disorganised files and no follow-up plans for errors found in checks, so oversight is not reliable.
The providers filing systems were not well organised. During our inspection visit staff were unable to locate some records... there was no action plan for how any identified issues were formally addressed.
No activities coordinator or structured programme, so the role involves mostly routine care with occasional basic outings or interest support.
