Working at Tilsley House Care Home

People received safe and effective care and were protected from the risk of avoidable harm. People received their medicines as prescribed. However, the quality of information recorded in accident and incident reports needed improvement.

Service leaders used a staffing dependency tool to monitor staffing levels against people’s assessed support needs. 'There are enough carers.' 'Carers are consistent.' Staff absence and performance were well managed to provide consistent quality care.

Staff were supported through an induction, supervision and training. A training overview monitored staff compliance with mandatory and other training. Managers conducted competency assessments in areas such as moving and handling and medicines.

The management team were visible and approachable. Leaders were approachable and supportive of staff and knew people well. 'The registered manager is very approachable, they come round every morning and they know all our names.'
