Staff were aware of the risks of abuse... felt confident any safeguarding concerns would be dealt with effectively. People had comprehensive risk assessments... The provider had a system to audit medicines records and follow up any gaps or mistakes... no gaps in records.

People, relatives and staff consistently told us the service was well-led. There was a warm and friendly culture within the service... One staff member told us, 'I'd recommend anyone to work here...'

There were sufficient numbers of suitable staff to support people safely according to their needs. People, relatives and staff confirmed this.

Staff completed mandatory training such as manual moving and handling, as well as training specific to people's individual needs, such as wound care and end of life care. The management team had an effective system to monitor that mandatory staff training and competency checks were carried out.

Management processes were in place to monitor and improve the quality of the service. There was a positive and open culture. The management team sought feedback from people, relatives and staff. Feedback was positive across all areas.

The provider had activities co-ordinators who supported and encouraged people to join in activities. These included arts and crafts, baking, and knitting. One to one activities were available... visits from external activity projects... day trips.
