Working at Thorndale

Medicines were managed safely and effectively. There was a positive approach to risk management. Incidents were recorded accurately and analysed regularly.

Staff told us they enjoyed working there. 'It's a happy and satisfying place to work. The staff team work well together.'

Staff training in a range of key and specialist areas was up to date. All staff were currently completing a distance learning course in 'understanding autism'.

Relatives and staff told us the registered manager was approachable. Staff workshops made staff feel valued and supported.

People had made substantial progress due to the use of the SMART target system. These targets and other positive proactive support strategies had resulted in a reduction in the number of incidents.
