The service had effective safeguarding systems, and staff had a good understanding of the actions to take to make sure people were protected from harm. The service learned from incidents and shared learning.

Relatives said there were enough staff to meet their relative’s needs. Staff confirmed there was enough staff on each shift and we observed people being supported in a calm and unhurried manner.

Staff were now trained to meet people’s needs and were compliant with training in line with the provider’s training requirements. Staff received regular supervision and team meetings.

Staff spoke positively about the support they received from the registered manager and about how they work together as a team. Staff said the registered manager led by example and helped them out when needed.

Staff supported people with activities like looking after chickens, baking, bingo weekly, community outings, swimming, musical chairs, and a static car innovation in the garden.
