Working at The Oaks Care Home

No permanent manager in post for over a year, with repeated serious failings in running the home safely.

There had been no registered manager in post since July 2024. This is the third consecutive inspection the provider has been in breach of the regulations.

Staffing feels stretched to some, with agency workers who lack proper training.

Some felt that more domestic staff especially at the weekend and more care staff at night would be appreciated. A relative said, “To be honest the regular staff are great, but the agency staff could do with the training.”

Training and supervisions have been missed until very recently, leaving gaps in skills.

Prior to our assessment, training, supervision and appraisal meetings had not been carried out as planned. The provider had already identified shortfalls relating to training and staff support.
