Working at The Grange Nursing Home

People’s medicines were managed safely. Lessons were learned from incident investigations, and learning was shared with staff. Staff understood their responsibility to recognise and report abuse, and knew how to do this.

Staff told us they felt supported and valued by the provider and the manager. They said they enjoyed working at the home and were treated fairly. Staff said they supported one another well and that there was a good sense of teamwork.

Staff had the training and support they needed to carry out their roles. All staff had an induction when they started work and had access to the training they needed... Each member of staff had a minimum of 4 supervision sessions a year.

The manager was a skilled and experienced leader who led by example in their attitudes and behaviours. Staff said the manager was a skilled and experienced leader, and that they valued the support the manager provided.

The home’s activities coordinator provided a programme of activities including baking, arts and crafts, massage, games, and quizzes. The activities coordinator also organised outings and events involving families. People had opportunities to be involved in their local community.
