Medicines were not always managed safely. The provider was in breach of the legal regulations relating to medicines and involving people to manage risks.

Staff told us they had support and supervision relevant to their roles and no issues were raised by staff about how they were supported by the provider.

The local authority shared concerns with the provider over the staffing numbers. Information provided by the provider showed a lack of understanding in how to accurately complete their staffing dependency tool which is used to identify what staffing is required.

Staff had training in safeguarding and told us they understood their responsibilities to keep people safe. Staff had received training in mental capacity and consent.

Governance processes were ineffective. Actions taken to address concerns raised were not always prioritised effectively. The registered manager told us they carried out daily walkarounds, but these had failed to identify what we found on inspection.

People did not receive person centred care and staff did not spend time with people outside of care tasks. People were ‘bored’ and ‘fed up’.
