Most relatives told us there were enough staff available to meet people’s needs. Some relatives told us there were fewer staff on duty at times... The service experienced staff retention difficulties and subsequently, maintaining a consistent number of staff on duty had become difficult.
There were arrangements in place to ensure staff completed induction training, kept up to date with mandatory training and staff supervision sessions were organised. People were supported by staff who had received relevant training to a recognised standard.
In 2024 changes were made to the day to management of the service. This brought about some positive changes but also changes which had not benefitted the service. Governance arrangements were being reviewed.
Relatives spoke positively about how well the activities co-ordinator supported people... They do chair exercises, quizzes, skittles... We received mixed feedback from relatives about how often people went outside... outings are on a rota basis.
