The culture in the service was welcoming, friendly, and person-centred. Staff showed a good understanding of their individual roles and spoke with each other throughout the day.

From this we could see that some staff had never undertaken training in fire safety, safeguarding, first aid, dementia awareness or end of life care.
We asked staff their views on the new registered manager and received mixed feedback. One staff member said, '[Registered manager] won't listen to other's point of view and becomes 'shouty''.
There were two activity co-ordinators who worked across the Coach House and Willow units. We observed that the co-ordinator was active throughout the day going from person to person.
