The provider’s safeguarding processes had not always been implemented effectively. During the inspection, we found a safeguarding concern which had not been reported to CQC... PRN medicines were not being regularly counted.
Staff told us they felt valued. Comments included, “The managers are 100% supportive”, “They listen and give positive feedback”, “The manager always says, ‘my door is always open’”.
The provider made sure there were enough staff available to meet people’s needs... Staff recruitment was safe, although some minor improvements were required... not all staff had up to date practical training.
At the time of the inspection, we found not all staff had up to date practical training, for example in supporting people with their emergency epilepsy medicines.
Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive. Managers were responsive to feedback and there was a culture of continuous improvement within the service.
People told us the service provided lots of interesting activities to keep people physically and mentally active. “[Person] goes out a lot – more than I do”.
