Medicines were not always managed safely. Eight people had gaps in their Medication Administration Records (MAR), we could not be sure if people had received their medication as prescribed.

There was not enough staff to manage the needs of people in the service and provide support to people that required the assistance of two staff. Relatives told us 'I don't think there are enough staff' and 'The home has been dreadfully short staffed.'

Records show staff training was not kept up to date. Staff had not completed training in MCA and DoLS and did not understand the principles of the Act.

Managers did not lead effectively, and staff did not feel listened to or valued. Staff told us '[Registered manager] was supportive but was a jack of all trades and did everything.'
