People living at the home and relatives said there were enough staff. Staff said they felt there were enough staff on duty to safely meet people needs. One member of staff said, “Some days are a lot busier. Right now, we have a good number of staff.”
At the time of our inspection 8 out of 41 members of staff had not completed annual safeguarding training. The registered manager told us there were plans in place for this to be completed.
Staff told us they felt supported and received the necessary support and supervision. A staff member told us, “I feel the registered manager has the skills, knowledge and experience to do the job; they are empathic and respectful.”
The home employed an activities coordinator... ‘memories’ booklet with pictures of activities done, including singing, a summer fayre which raised £215 for the resident fund, trips to garden centres, dominoes, table tennis, owl and dog therapy, violin playing event, knitting, tabletop games, and Halloween celebration.
Quite a few staff are behind on required safeguarding training, and it was missing from new staff induction.
