Records reviewed showed staff with responsibilities for medicine management had not always completed the required medicines training and had their medicines competency assessed. Some staff confirmed they did not receive formal supervision.
at the time of this assessment the manager appointed had not applied to CQC to assess their ability to become the registered manager of the home. There had been continuous changes to management at all levels within the home impacting on the effectiveness of governance and leadership.
There was a limited choice of meaningful and stimulating activities for people. Staff felt there was a lack of activities available... “Only have 1 activities co-ordinator across all 3 units” and “Staff try as best we can... sing song, bingo etc would love to be able to go on day trips.”
No permanent manager in place, and managers change a lot, so unclear who is in charge.
