"Supportive management and open culture where staff feel valued, but unclear staff stability and basic activities without specialist support."
Staff had been trained in how to safeguard people... knowledgeable about... risks and signs of abuse... suitable arrangements for the safe... management... of medicines... open culture of learning from... events.
There was an open and respectful culture... relatives and staff were comfortable to speak with the registered manager... management was always open to suggestions from the staff team.
There were enough staff deployed to meet people's needs and promote their safety... calm atmosphere in the home.
Staff received training... basic core training such as moving and handling... specific training modules... end of life care and epilepsy awareness... regular one to one supervision.
The registered manager demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the staff they employed... Staff understood their roles and responsibilities and felt well supported by the manager.
People were supported to access the local village shops, attend church services, go to feed the ducks and go out for meals locally... external entertainers... barbecues and parties.
Staffing levels are enough to meet needs and keep things calm, but no info on team stability or agency use.
People's relatives and staff all told us that there were enough staff available to meet people's needs.
No activities coordinator or specialist programmes, just basic outings to shops and church plus occasional parties.
We did not see staff supporting any activities in the home on the day of this inspection.
