The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. They listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events. Lessons were learnt to continually identify and embed good practice.

However, some people and relatives commented, "It’s meals and showers, we have to wait because there are not enough staff", “They need more staff, if I want to speak to someone they are all busy” and “More staff are needed at night."
Staff members confirmed they received opportunities for training and development. Along with mandatory training, additional training was available. Their comments included, “My training is up to date” and “We do online and face to face training.”
People, relatives and staff said the registered manager was “very approachable.” Their comments included, “I have total confidence in the manager, they have a calm presence, businesslike”, “The manager is always about” and “The manager is very supportive.”
Three activities co-ordinators were employed to help ensure people were supported to experience a range of meaningful activities and entertainment... Peoples and relatives’ comments included, “I went to see Fenwick’s Christmas window”, “There is loads going on, they were making chocolates last week” and “Entertainers come in regularly.”
