The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety... Staff understood the process for reporting and recording events... Systems were in place to protect people from the risk of abuse. However, risk assessments had not been updated when they moved between households.

Staff told us they felt supported by the management team. Staff spoke openly about challenges they had faced as a team and told us how they respected the registered manager.

Staff told us, 'We get all the training we need and can ask for other training if we think we need it' and 'I had an induction and do training online, I find the training very good.' Staff also received training to effectively support people with a learning disability and autistic people.

Staff told us they felt the culture within the home had improved, particularly in recent months. One staff member told us, '[The registered manager] is approachable and has made changes for the better.'

Activity workers arranged for entertainers to come to the service, people also told us they went to the cinema, local clubs and shops... They have days out... own bus... attended college... new ‘cookery kitchen’.
