Staff told us that they were able to share their ideas and felt listened to. Staff felt well supported by the management team.

There were suitable numbers of staff to provide the care and support people were assessed as needing.

Staff had completed courses which the provider had assessed as mandatory such as first aid, moving and handling, infection control and dementia as well as additional courses to meet people's specific health needs, for example, staff had attended training in relation to epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, sepsis, pressure area care and catheter care.

The registered manager promoted an open culture and was a visible presence in the service, staff felt listened to and valued.

The service employed activities coordinators, which enabled activities to take place seven days a week. A range of activities were available including arts and crafts, nail care, theme days, board games, quizzes and one-to-one sessions.
