Working at Springfield House Residential Care Home

Training has gaps in mental capacity and equality topics, and not everyone has had recent one-on-one supervisions.

We identified some gaps in training. No training had been provided in Diversity... Mental Capacity Act... out of date for all but one... Only four members of staff had received face to face supervision since May 2019.

Just basic group activities like quizzes and crafts a few times a week, no coordinator or special programmes to make days more varied.

We have activities about four times a week. We have quizzes, we have made small pots... I went to the village hall... for a coffee morning.

Staffing is enough to get by but they have a team leader spot empty and no word on low turnover or no agency staff.

There were generally enough staff... There was a vacancy for a second team leader at the time of the inspection.
