Staff had a good understanding of systems in place to manage medicines, safeguarding matters. Accidents and incidents were recorded and audited monthly to identify trends.
The staff we spoke with told us they enjoyed working at the service and felt valued, could put their views across to their manager, and felt they were listened to. 'I feel we all work together as a team and we're like a family'.
People told us and we observed during inspection there were enough staff available to meet people's needs and to keep them safe. A staff member commented, 'We've got enough staff and we don't like using agency staff'.
Training provided included manual handling, first aid, medication, fire safety, health and safety, food hygiene, safeguarding, MCA/DoLS, infection control and dementia. Majority of care staff undertaking distance learning in falls prevention, end of life care, dementia care.
Staff told us they enjoyed working for the organisation and spoke positively about the culture and management of the service. They also told us that they were encouraged to openly discuss any issues.
A range of activities were on offer including board games, dominoes, exercise, outings, church visits, seasonal events, physiotherapy twice weekly, quizzes, crosswords.
