Staff knew how to recognise and report any concerns relating to abuse. Medicines management systems were in place and infection control was managed well.
Staff were positive about the service they provided, the management team and liked working there. All staff said they felt it really was about people, and it was their home.
People and relatives felt there were enough trained staff to meet their needs. Staff told us there were enough of them to meet people’s needs in a person centred and timely way.
We reviewed the training matrix and saw training was completed and in date. Staff felt they received enough training and support to carry out their role.
The management team were present in the home providing support and guidance. Staff were positive about the management team who supported the home.
A person said, “We had flower arranging last week.” A relative said, “There are many organised activities to encourage residents to join in and mix together if they wish.”
Just basic activities like flower arranging and a gentleman's club, no dedicated coordinator or varied programme, so most of the job is routine personal care.
