People were protected from the risk of harm and abuse by staff who understood their responsibilities... effective systems for monitoring incidents and accidents. Risk assessments completed and reviewed regularly... incidents recorded and analysis used to identify patterns.

Staff described a positive culture, where they felt well supported. “I am supported to be myself.” “It’s a good atmosphere, we all get along well together.” All the staff we spoke with said they were proud to work at Skylark House.

Agency staff were rarely used and staffing levels and deployment were consistently maintained. Staff described being well supported... One staff member said, “It’s really good now... we don’t use agency now, it is much better.”

Staff described a positive culture where they were supported and felt confident to speak up. There was effective leadership and the registered manager demonstrated clear oversight of the service. People told us the registered manager was friendly, approachable and visible... “She is around a lot,” and “She is lovely.”
