"Staff get good training and feel supported, but no permanent manager and safety slips with mattresses hold it back."
We did observe that 3 people’s pressure mattresses where not always set to the correct weight of the person... During the visit we did identify that where people had urinary incontinence, their mattresses had not always been cleaned appropriately on 1 floor.
Staff told us they felt leaders were keen on ensuring staff wellbeing. Comments included, “We all have enough and regular breaks...” and “Now it is much much better. I am mentally so relaxed, my team are happy.”

Staff were provided with appropriate training and supervisions. The manager told us training was ongoing and any additional opportunities for specialist training would be provided. One member of staff told us, “They give you a lot of training here.”

We observed multiple activities taking place in the service on the day of our visit which were varied based on people’s capabilities. There was also an entertainer in the afternoon.
No permanent manager in place, using a temporary turnaround team while recruiting one.

This reduced the effectiveness and placed people at increased risk of developing pressure sores... where people had urinary incontinence, their mattresses had not always been cleaned appropriately on 1 floor.
Enough staff but agency workers sometimes do not know residents diets and needs.
During lunch we found an agency member of staff was not aware of the dietary needs of people and often would not support people proactively until prompted by other staff.
