Working at Signature at Hendon Hall

Staffing is adequate for unhurried care, but they were using some agency workers at the time of inspection.

At the time of our inspection the service was using a number of agency staff. The registered manager told us that new staff had been recruited to replace all the agency staff

Only standard training covering basics and induction, with no specialist courses or funded qualifications mentioned.

Staff had undertaken training in a range of topics so that they could do their job well. This included training in areas such as basic life support, food hygiene, infection control, dementia... All new care staff completed an induction in line with the Care Certificate.

Activities programme is varied with coordinators and outings, but lacks named specialist approaches or innovations.

The home employed 3 activities co-ordinators... varied programme of events and activities... regular trips out... cultural events... 1-1 activities.
