Lots of staff behind on mandatory training like de-escalation and some only did safeguarding.

Not all staff had completed their mandatory training. For example, Some staff had not completed non-abusive psychology and physical intervention training. Two members of staff had only completed safeguarding training and no other mandatory training.

No meaningful activities programme so residents mostly sit around in the lounge all day.

The service provided activities, but they were not meaningful. Three out of the four relatives we spoke to said that the service wasn’t “very lively” and “everyone just sits all day in the lounge”.

Expired test strips and other medical supplies were still in use for checks like blood sugar.

We found that seven out of 14 boxes of test strips for blood glucose monitoring went out of date in July 2022. We found three out of nine packets of lancets had expired in 2022.
