We found discrepancies on 2 occasions with other medicines hard to reconcile... We also found protocols... were missing... 2 incidents which potentially met the threshold for a safeguarding referral.
Staff were positive about working at Seven Arches Nursing Home. A staff member told us, “Teamwork is really good. The atmosphere is nice, the manager is really nice. They are flexible with my shifts and childcare.”
Throughout our assessment we saw staff were available to respond to people’s needs and they responded promptly. People we spoke with confirmed this.
Staff were required to regularly refresh their training and were positive about the training and support they received. A staff member told us, “I did all the training here, online and practical. The nurses do my competency checks.”
The registered manager had been absent for 1 week, but senior staff had not picked up the issues we identified during this assessment. More work was needed to ensure appropriate oversight was in place at all times.
The activity programme was available Monday to Friday... When we asked what happened at a weekend, they told us they did not know and thought staff tried to do some things.
