No steady manager on site, deputy often covers care shifts instead of managing.

At the time of inspection, the home was being managed by the deputy manager as the registered manager was absent. They had support from the operations manager and sporadic support from deputy managers from other homes. The deputy manager was also at times working as support staff and so not able to fulfil a management role.

Medication not stored or checked safely, no audits to confirm given correctly.

The medication cabinet that held people's medications was locked however was not otherwise secured... We were unable to check 'as and when' (PRN) medication as there were no running total checks... medication audits during the inspection and these were unavailable.

Only basic activities based on personal likes, no coordinator or varied programme.

People accessed activities that were specific to their preferences. For example, one person preferred outdoor activities and another person preferred homebased activities.
