Medicines management had been improved, although there were still areas of practice that needed further work... further improvements were needed in some medicine records.

There was a positive atmosphere and an open culture within which staff were supportive of each other. Staff felt well supported by the registered manager.

There were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs safely... staff had adequate time to complete their tasks in a safe manner. There has been a reduction in agency use.

New staff received consistent induction, supervision, training and support. Staff spoke positively about their induction and ongoing support.

People who used the service, relatives, staff and external professionals commented on the positive impacts of the registered manager and regional operations manager. The registered manager had a proactive, open approach to resolving problems.

The registered manager had brought in a second activities co-ordinator... There were now weekly trips out for people on a minibus, which was proving popular.
