Staff demonstrated a good awareness of safeguarding procedures. Incidents had become less serious due to reviewed strategies and non-physical interventions; excellent support with medicines.

Staff are proud to work at the service and equally proud that people had achieved 'golden aspirations'. A staff member told us, 'The sky is the limit here.'

Of the 22 staff who worked at the service, eight had worked there for over 10 years and most had worked there for over five years. This enabled staff to develop caring relationships with people.

The registered manager had developed a staff training and mentoring programme that was built around the needs of people. Staff received continuous training opportunities irrespective of how long they had worked.

Staff spoke consistently about the service being an exceptional place to work and one that was exceptionally well led. The registered manager inspired the staff team.

The registered manager was invited to speak about the outstanding success of activities at a forum organised by a local authority. Staff supported 'golden aspirations' like helicopter flights and archery.
