"Staff receive relevant training and enjoy an improved family-like culture, but no registered manager and heavy agency reliance hold it back."
Staff had received up to date training in safeguarding people. Staff confirmed they knew how to identify when a person may be at risk of harm and knew who to report concerns outside of the service.
We found the morale in the staff team had improved. One staff member said, 'This place is a really nice place to work.' Another staff member said, 'We are like a family and we treat the agency as part of the team. Everyone gets on really well.'
The service still relied heavily on agency staff. However, the manager told us there was a recent appointment and agency staff we spoke with worked in the service regularly and clearly knew the people they supported.
Staff had now received training relevant to their roles and to the specific needs of the people they supported. This included autism, learning disability, epilepsy and dysphasia.
At the time of our inspection there was not a registered manager in post. A manager was in post who had begun the process of registration.
Per 2022 comprehensive inspection: Staff supported people to join in their chosen social and leisure interests and activities... country walks, visits to parks, trips to the seaside, eating out, watching a variety of films, listening to music, BBQs, birthday and Christmas parties, musical instruments, shopping and a wide variety of indoor crafts.
No permanent manager in post, the current one has only started the registration process.

Only basic activities like outings, crafts, and parties, no coordinator or special programmes to make the job more varied.
