Robust systems were in place to report, review and analyse key safety areas, including accidents, incidents and falls. Leaders were proactive in overseeing safety events... no culture of blame, but poor performance is addressed. Lessons were now learnt to continually identify and embed good practice.
The provider was excellent at promoting staff well-being. Various initiatives were implemented to support staff and celebrate good practice. Staff enjoyed working at the service and felt motivated to provide person centred care. One staff member told us '#loveworkinghere and I truly do'.
Leaders were visible, approachable and led by example. Staff felt supported by the senior leadership team, describing them as approachable and leading by example. For example, the registered manager carried out night shifts to be more accessible for staff who worked nights.
There was a comprehensive 7 day a week activities programme, created with people by a dedicated in-house activities team. Activities included external entertainers, such as local choirs, inter-generational activities with local schools, animal experiences, village well dressing, scarecrow trail, summer fayre.
