Staff numbers are enough usually but relatives notice long waits for call bells sometimes and staff say extra hands would help on busy days.

We received mixed feedback from people and relatives about staffing levels. One relative commented, “I have noticed other patients shouting to go to the toilet and they have had to wait for ages for someone to come.” Staff told us, “There are always days where you think an extra pair of hands would be brilliant.”

Only standard training to keep basic skills up to date with no specialist courses or funded qualifications for career growth.

Staff received regular training to ensure their skills and knowledge were up to date and enable them to provide safe care. There were processes in place to make sure staff received the support they needed to deliver safe care. This included induction, training, supervision, appraisal and support to develop.
