Working at Redbourne

Medicines were managed safely, and people were protected from avoidable harm by staff that knew them remarkably well. Accidents and incidents were reviewed by the registered manager and lessons were learnt when things went wrong.

Staff were extremely well motivated and positive about the service. Staff told us 'We are a really good team' and 'We are open and honest with each other and the atmosphere is good.'

There was enough staff to meet people's needs and provide one to one support when necessary. Staffing levels were appropriate... Some people were allocated a core staff team, so the same group of staff provided the person's support.

Staff received training which was personalised to the needs of the people who use the service... Staff received regular supervision... New staff received a structured induction programme.

The registered manager was without exception caring and open about the service and his relationship with staff was built on trust and mutual respect. Feedback about the registered manager was extremely positive and staff felt very well supported.

People engaged in a varied range of activities, including swimming, baking, arts and crafts, cinema, theatre, bowling and companywide events which included 'bloomin marvellous' for the gardens... runners up in the 'cake off' competition.
