Working at Providence Court

No permanent manager in charge, just an acting one while a new one starts soon.

The registered manager had recently left to manage another of the provider’s services. The home was being run by an acting manager. Following our assessment, a new manager, previously at another of the provider’s locations, was starting at the home.

Some staff used poor moving techniques that caused bruises and skin tears, and people sometimes went too long without repositioning.

We noted some people had injuries, such as bruises or skin tears on areas linked to handling... records showed at times, they could go up to 8 hours in a seated position.

Staffing is adequate but nothing special, just enough to get by without extra for personalised care.

People said there were mostly enough staff to meet their needs... A staff member said, “There's enough manpower to meet people.”
