Working at Primrose Hill Nursing Home

The service was in breach of legal regulations in relation to people’s safe care and treatment, medicines management and staffing.

Staff told us they did not feel confident to speak out during the site visit and shared concerns with us after the inspection.

There were not always enough staff available to support people when they needed it and to keep them safe, we have reported on these concerns under ‘involving people to manage risk’.

The lack of effective systems and oversight of the care people received demonstrated a lack of capability within the management and leadership team. There was also a failure by all leaders to have adequate oversight of the staffing levels of the home.

The registered manager told us the activity workers were currently unavailable in the home and staff were completing activities with people whilst this was resolved. As staff were busy and unavailable to people, we saw people did not always have the opportunity to participate in activities they enjoyed.
