The service was in breach of legal regulation in relation to people’s safe care and treatment... People’s medicines had not always been managed safely... There had been a medicines error... deceased person’s medication had been given to another person.
Some staff felt they had not always been supported by the management team... Staff meetings had not been held on a regular basis. Some staff told us there were no staff meetings.
Feedback about the staffing levels at the service was positive... Staff told us they felt there were enough staff to meet people’s needs.
Staff feedback was that they had not had face to face training such as first aid and moving and handling training to support them to carry out their roles. Staff had also not received training or support to meet particular health conditions.
Leaders had not always demonstrated the skills, knowledge, experience and credibility to lead effectively... they had not identified all of the shortfalls that we found at this inspection.
There were dedicated activities staff who supported people to engage in activities of interest to them... The provider also was proud of their partnership working with the nursery and scouts who came to see residents.

The provider’s quality assurance processes were not effective as they had not picked up shortfalls we identified during this inspection... Most staff also felt they were approachable, although some had fedback that their concerns were not always acted on.
